1. Introduction to the Project
1.1 Project Background
1.1. 1 P roduct Introduction
Pyruvic acid is the smallest molecule with carbonyl and carboxyl functional groups, displaying more important and special chemical properties than general chemical compound , which is often used as drug synthesis and organic synthesis. In the aspect of medicine , it can be use to synthesize hypertension medicine , cancer-resisting medicine , antiviral agent and sedative ; in agriculture, it is used to synthesize bactericide and herbicide; in daily-use chemical industry, it can be used as brightener , preservative , antioxidant and preservative , which is a kind of medical and chemical intermediate widely used . In addition , pyruvic acid is the simplest molecular structure in α-ketonic acid , playing an important role in organism's chemical metabolic pathway , its derivatives calcium pyruvate/sodium and pyruvate can be used in high grade medical treatment and health care medicine . At present, output of global pyruvic acid products is insufficient , far from meeting the market demand. More economical pro duction technolog ies are need urgently to replace the old ones .
Purpose of crylic acid : it is main raw material for producing tryptophan , PHE and Vitamin B , raw material for bio-synthesizing L-DOPA, and polyvinyl initiator ; GB 2760-1996 specifies it as allowable food spice ; it is used in organic synthesis and biochemical research ; and used as color developer for verifying primary and secondary alcohol and fatty amine to determine transaminase.
1.1. 2 Market Prospects
At present, global total market demand for pyruvic acid is 24,000 t, and domestic market price of 98% content pyruvic acid is about 5 0,000 yuan/ t. Nearly 10 Chinese enterprises produce pyruvic acid and salt and esters , with annual production capacity less than 2,000 t. However, most of enterprises adopt backward tartaric acid and potassium pyrosulfate to synthesize and produc e pyruvic acid. This technology has been used for over 70 years , but it is featured by high energy consumption, serious pollution and high cost, so it is nearly eliminated . At present, global total output of pyruvic acid is about 8,000t-10,000 t , and annual output of pyruvic acid in China is 1,000t-1,500 t, in which over 80% is exported, and growth rate of domestic market pyruvic acid has even reached 8-10 % . In the international market, 80% of pyruvic acid is used in pharmaceutical industry , about 20 % is used in food and health care products and other industries. With industrial application fields constantly expanding , consumption of pyruvic acid will also rise sharply . Therefore , domestic and international market of pyruvic acid has a huge gap, in addition to the increasing domestic market demand, and high-quality pyruvic acid is especially lacking , and the market has entered high-speed growth period .
The market price of biological-base lactic acid is 11,000 yuan/ t, lower than 15,000 yuan/t of petroleum-base tartaric acid , and the generation technology cost of catalytic ODH is much lower than that of tartaric acid approach. Therefore , this technology has good industrial application and investment prospect.
Pyruvic acid is a new-type medicine , pesticide and daily-use chemical intermediate , its domestic and foreign market demand grows very rapidly, and the price is always on the high side . Chinese pyruvic acid series products are mainly exported . With people's living standard constantly increas ing , demand of pyruvic acid series products in domestic market will gradually expand, especially as raw material of diet pill, it has a bright future . In addition, in o ther medical aspects, it is also in urgent demand. With the technology constantly improving , the production cost will drop sharply. Therefore , pyruvic acid has very broad development prospect.
1.1.3 Technical Analysis
This project comes from technical upgrading demand of Tianjing Shengdao Technology Co., Ltd., domestic leading enterprise in pyruvic acid industry . The existing process is tartaric acid dehydration and decarboxylation process , which adopts petroleum-base raw material tartaric acid that reacts with potassium hydrogen sulfate at 200-230℃ and receives vacuum rectification to get pyruvic acid. The atom economy is not high, and potassium hydrogen sulfate is discharged in the form of SOx gas pollutant. The production process with low economy will limit the output and block the commercial application. Pyruvic acid synthesized by lactic acid ODH is one of important reactions of high value utilization of biomass resources, having extremely high atom economy .
This project adopts renewable biomass lactic acid as raw material , and non-toxic, steady compound metal oxide based on molybdenum, vanadium and niobium as c atalyst to directly synthesize pyruvic acid through ODH reaction. The reaction process can ensure energy conservation and environmental protection. It is an environment-friendly production technology. T he technology in t his project is the proprietary technology researched and developed by the heterogeneous catalytic conversion team of Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, CAS . Based on many years of research, this project will design and construct ton-level production platform of compound metal oxide catalyst based on molybdenum, vanadium and niobium to optimize technolog ical process , and realizing high reaction selectivity ( >90% ) and low energy consumption. At present, process package of 1,000t pyruvic acid is being completed .
The Institute owns proprietary intellectual property rights for this project, and has applied two invention patents , one is compound metal oxide catalyst based on molybdenum, vanadium and niobium and the preparation and application , application number 201310692609.5 , inventors Li Xuebing, Song Liang and Miao Shixuan ; the other is pyruvic acid preparation method , application number 201410033428.6 , inventors Li Xuebing, Li Hong, Song Liang and Miao Shixuan . Patent owners of two inventions are Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, CAS. At present, there is no existing national standard for pyruvic acid and its products as reference , and related enterprises are combined together to boost and formulate the industrial standard.
1.1.4 A dvantageous Conditions of Project Construction
( 1 ) Location advantage
The factory area is located in the northeast of Gongzhuling downtown, west of 102 National Road, which has complete public utilities in the periphery, and infrastructure conditions of “six accesses and one leveling” (six accesses mean power supply, water supply, water discharge, heat supply, telecommunication and road; one leveling means factory area leveling).Gongzhuling City is close to Changchun to the east, connects Shenyang to the south, and joins Harbin to the north, having railway, highway and airway extending in all directions. Beijing-Harbin double-rail railway and Harbin-Dalian Expressway transversely pass through the downtown and the economic development zone under construction. It takes half a hour to Changchun by car, 2 hours to Shenyang, and 5 hours to Dalian. 30,000 programmable telephones in the city have connected with domestic and international network, and opened up packet switching equipment and digital data network .
( 2 ) Park foundation
Lingdong Industrial Concentration Zone, Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province is located in the east of Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province, which was approved as a provincial-level industrial concentration zone by the Provincial Development Office in April 2006. It has total planning area 28.6km2, including built up area 6km2. Since its establishment, it has closely follow the overall target of building Lingdong Economic Zone to take project construction as center, adjust economic structure, optimize industrial layout, increase development speed, and constantly expand the economic aggregate. 56 projects have entered the zone. It has basically formed a new-type industrial cluster mainly based on agricultural and sideline products processing, fine chemical engineering and auto parts processing, and realized gross regional domestic product 2 billion yuan, gross industrial output value 4.6 billion yuan and revenue 101 million yuan.
(4) Abundant human resources
It has 14 secondary vocational technical schools with powerful faculty, meeting the demand of enterprises in the city for secondary professional technical talents; a number of vocational schools including Gongzhuling Vocational Technical College and Technician Training School can cultivate 8,000 professional vocational technical talents; in addition , Gongzhuling Municipal Government has signed talent and scientific and technological strategic cooperation framework agreement with Changchun Branch, CAS and Jilin University , and developed profound cooperation with J ilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Jilin Agricultural University to provide powerful technology and talent support for the enterprise development .
(5) Tr affic advantage
Gongzhuling City has convenient traffic conditions , Beijing-Harbin double-track railway, Harbin-Dalian Expressway and 102 National Road form northeast transport artery traversing Gongzhuling City . Harbin-Dalian Expressway has two exits at the Gongzhuling section . Gongzhuling City is only 50km from Changchun Civil Aviation Airport , 720km from Dalian Port, and 440km from Yingkou Port . It takes only half an hour to reach Changchun by car, 2 h to Shenyang, and 5 h to Dalian , and the whole journey is connected with expressway .

2.2 Overview
Gongzhuling Chemical Industrial Park was approved and established by the Provincial Department of Environmental Protection in April 2011, which is one of only three chemical industrial parks approved in Jilin Province. The park is situated in the Lingdong Industrial Concentration Zone of Gongzhuling City, north of Hongyuan Street, west of New 102 Line, east of East Second Road, covering an area of 1.4km2, and mainly developing series products of basic organic chemical raw materials, fine chemicals, high polymer materials, new chemical materials and life medicine.
